Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team at our Gaylord, Minnesota manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will provide leadership to the HR function, serving as a liaison between management and employees. The HR Manager will be responsible for promoting positive employee relations, driving cultural values, and executing business strategy aligned with company goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations: Develop and implement strategies to improve employee satisfaction, positive employee relations, and working conditions. Evaluate current human resources policies and programs to ensure they are effective and aligned with company goals.
  • HR Program Development: Direct the work of the HR team to support both HR and business initiatives. Set priorities and objectives, lead, teach, and coach the team to ensure they have the necessary skills and competencies to meet current and future operational goals.
  • Counseling and Dispute Resolution: Provide counseling and dispute resolution regarding employee issues through consultation and investigation with both employees and leaders. Review company policy and practice and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Recruitment and Talent Management: Develop location recruitment strategy in alignment with company recruitment strategy and in collaboration with location HR team to attract and retain qualified candidates.
  • Employee Development: Collaborate with Centers of Excellence to evaluate, design, and implement employee development programs to ensure employees have the necessary skills and competencies to meet current and future operational goals.
  • HR Systems and Payroll: Audit employee records for completion and accuracy. Authorize changes to employee records when necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field with Master's preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Human Resources Manager, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding employment practices.
  • Knowledge of HR Systems and Payroll, including time-keeping systems.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to multi-task, deal with employees with diverse backgrounds, and build positive employee relations at all levels.
  • Prior experience working in facilities that have been recently merged or acquired is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
