Job Summary:

As a MRI Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing a variety of MRI procedures and departmental support functions. Under the supervision of the Radiology Supervisor, you will be responsible for selecting and modifying technical factors to enhance images, using flare and SAT imaging techniques, and determining appropriate equipment for scanning.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform MRI examinations of the brain, body, spine, and extremities on patients of all ages, adjusting scanning parameters for different patient body habitus.
Select and modify technical factors to enhance images, using flare and SAT imaging techniques.
Determine appropriate equipment for scanning, including body coils.
Identify gross pathology in the human body and adjust T1 and T2 scanning parameters to provide pertinent information for interpretation.
Adjust parameters of equipment to minimize risk factors to self and patient.
Effectively perform Diffusion studies, MR Angiograms, reformats, and MIP imaging.
Perform specialized exams, including MRA runoffs and post arthrogram work-ups.

Requirements:

Minimum one (1) year of experience as an MRI technologist or registry eligible ARRT advanced certification in MRI required.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program or MRI Accredited Certificate Program required.
American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Certificate or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Magnetic Resonance Imaging within 12 months of hire.
Basic Life Support certification required.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to stand, push, pull, and lift patients.
May be required to lift objects heavier than 50 pounds, perform difficult manipulative skills, and hand-eye coordination skills.
Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
