Position: LINUX Systems Engineer II
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required

Objective:

Implementation of the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).

A suite of applications designed to address various aspects of the agency's RMF requirements, including System Registration, Exemption Tracking, Patch Management, and System Monitoring.

System Monitoring constitutes the majority of daily operations.

This array of applications, alongside external partner tools, creates challenges for users navigating the RMF workflow.

The current methodology necessitates users to transition between multiple websites to complete different segments of information.
The goal is to establish a cohesive RMF infrastructure that consolidates the entire process in a single location.

Role Overview:


  • As part of the Secure the Enterprise initiative, the project aims to enhance capabilities to transition from the existing manual system security evaluation and authorization process to a modernized model that prioritizes automation, streamlined workflows and approvals, continuous monitoring and assessment, as well as network data collection throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee infrastructure management, continuous integration, environment configuration, and deployment processes.
  • Ensure the project's compliance and security standards are upheld.
  • Concentrate on delivering automation solutions that facilitate seamless operations for all teams involved.

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential Expertise in:
o Linux system administration
o Docker
o AWS, C2S, or equivalent cloud experience
o GitLab Pipeline
o Ansible Pipeline

Preferred Skills:

  • Elasticsearch
  • Cloud hosting and automation


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • 10 years of experience as a System Administrator in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • 5 years of additional System Administrator experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
