Job SummaryWe are seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner to join our team at our Shirley, NY site. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, evaluating, and delivering healthcare services to patients on assigned services, emphasizing preventative health measures and education.
Key Responsibilities- Takes histories, performs physical examinations, gives immunizations (as necessary), and provides patient education and counseling.
- Orders appropriate lab work, draws blood for lab work if needed, and performs some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams.
- Prescribes treatment for minor illnesses and consults with physicians regarding medication, chronic illness, and referrals when appropriate.
- Maintains legible and appropriate documentation and reviews records periodically.
- Follows OSHA standards of infection control under CDC guidelines endorsed by the department, organization, and overseen by the Infection Control Officer.
- Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality, and patient satisfaction standards.
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Valid license as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
- 5-8 years of work-related experience, with 4 years of business office experience, preferably in a large medical practice with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Preferred work experience: 8+ years.
- Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written) is preferred.
