Job Title: Telecommunications Associate Voice III

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Associate Voice III to join our team. As a key member of our emergency communication systems team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing emergency communication systems within the context of 911 services.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex telecommunications systems to ensure reliable and responsive emergency communication channels.
  • Design and implement plans to improve emergency communication systems and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Participate in multi-agency public safety change control meetings to ensure seamless integration of new technologies.
  • Review and implement changes to the 911 environment to minimize impact on emergency operations.
Requirements:
  • A baccalaureate degree in voice telecommunications, telecommunications technology, electronics, physics, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in analytical, planning, operational, technical, and/or administrative duties in a voice telecommunications or closely-related electronics planning, electronics management, and/or electronics service environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management and other stakeholders.
