Job Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified educator with expertise in visually impaired education to provide exceptional support and instruction to students. As a Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired, you will have the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with visual impairments.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a virtual setting with students, families, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create tailored IEPs for students with visual impairments, taking into account their unique needs and goals.
  • Provide Direct Instruction and Support: Offer personalized instruction and support to students in virtual learning environments, utilizing assistive technology and online resources to enhance their learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best educational outcomes for students.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep accurate and confidential records related to student progress and IEP documentation.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Licensure and Certification: Possess a current Washington teaching license with endorsement in Visual Impairment or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience and Skills: Have experience working with students with visual impairments and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
What We Offer
