Responsibilities:
• Prepare and operate imaging equipment during cardiovascular procedures.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
• Maintain a sterile environment and follow strict infection control protocols.
Professional Practice:
• Serve as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Participate in the orientation of new staff members to ensure a smooth transition into their roles.
• Utilize downtime effectively by restocking rooms, checking equipment, and completing delegated tasks assigned by the Charge person or manager.
Qualifications:
• Complete Cath Lab RT Orientation within six months of hire.
• Achieve all competencies listed in department policy within six months of hire.
• Possess a completion certificate from a 24-month formal Radiologic Technology program or military program, with eligibility or current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Cardiovascular-Interventional Technologist (CI).
• Previous procedural area experience is preferred but not required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Maintenance of BLS certification is necessary throughout employment, while Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be achieved within six months of hire and maintained through duration of employment.
• A graduate degree in Radiography or Cardiovascular Science is preferred but not required.
• One year of experience working in a Cath Lab is highly desirable.
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiographer or the Cardiovascular Credentialing International – RCIS certification is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support certification is necessary upon hiring, while ACLS training should be completed within six months of joining.
Salary: $27.84-$45.46 per hour, commensurate with previous work experience.
