Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach in our Engineering Design program. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing students in various design courses, including Introduction to Engineering Design, Advanced Engineering Design, Architectural Design, and Engineering Design for Industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct students in design courses, utilizing computer-based systems and software to produce technical illustrations and designs.
  • Develop and implement course syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments to meet program objectives.
  • Counsel students on academic and career goals, and provide individualized instruction as needed.
  • Collaborate with program advisors and coordinators to develop and implement program curriculum and assessments.
  • Participate in program advisory board meetings and contribute to the development of program budgets and resource allocation.
  • Utilize Canvas web shell, classroom technology, and other instructional aids to enhance student learning.
  • Meet SFCC expectations for in-service attendance and professional development.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a technical field and at least 2 years of pertinent work experience, or
  • Three years of pertinent work experience

  • Ability to interact with a broad range of people in a positive manner
  • Commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college
  • Understanding of community college students and their needs
  • Willingness to improve instruction through professional development
