Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our team at Arkansas Electric. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and administering assigned portions of our overall IT environment to meet the needs of our various departments and divisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation and administration of assigned portions of our IT environment.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Assist with continuous performance monitoring of systems within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Troubleshoot problems and resolve issues as required.
  • Partner with suppliers and vendors to troubleshoot and correct problems in systems within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Evaluate system reliability and make recommendations for improvement where possible.
  • Monitor system performance to determine when upgrades of equipment and/or services will be required.
  • Assist employees and member cooperatives in interaction and support of systems within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Assist in the purchase of materials and supplies necessary for the operation and maintenance of systems within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Participate in the development of documentation describing the technical aspects of systems, as well as operational notes, change control logs, and procedural flow charts.
  • Review existing documentation for correctness and completeness.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of business continuity and disaster recovery procedures to support the availability of systems within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Periodically review, update, and test recovery plans and procedures to ensure effectiveness.
  • Assist with the planning process for IT services, hardware, and software within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain compliant work processes according to applicable regulatory standards and cooperative policies and programs.
  • Perform all work within the IT Division's change management and trouble ticket management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, MIS, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of SAN/NAS, VMWare, Servers, and Cisco UCS, Data Center Networking.
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2022 (WSUS).
  • Linux Systems Administration (Red Hat, CentOS).
  • MS Exchange or Office 365 Administration.
  • Microsoft SQL/Oracle.
  • CCNA Certification.

This position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to AECC/AECI standards and processes.
