Job Title: Academic Advisor

At the University of West Georgia, we are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of our students, providing guidance and resources to help them achieve their academic and career goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic advising services to assigned students, including face-to-face, virtual, and phone advising sessions.
  • Assist students in exploring majors and career options, and provide referrals to career counseling services.
  • Use technology, including Banner, EAB Navigate, and Google, to schedule appointments, maintain records, and monitor academic progress.
  • Develop and deliver professional presentations, publications, and training to enhance academic advising on campus and in the region.
  • Participate in proactive outreach strategies, including designing marketing materials and collaborating with other departments to assist students in staying on track to reach their academic goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Preferred one (1) year of experience in higher education, advising, or related areas, such as student academic support, housing, or student affairs.
