About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our Buildings group in Berkley, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative and sustainable design solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of integrated design proposals and building information models.
  • Coordinate building systems to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
  • Implement sustainable design principles into the design and environment.
  • Conceptualize building designs from both a functional and aesthetic perspective.
  • Participate in design critiques and pin-ups.
  • Interpret and apply building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare and revise documentation in various architectural phases.
  • Evaluate and select building systems and materials.
  • Assist in the preparation of project specifications and coordination of specs with construction documents.
  • Participate in constructability review, bidding, and negotiation phases.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, and prepare site observation reports.
  • Lead on-site, virtual, and in-office project coordination and meetings.
  • Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
Qualifications
  • Ability to engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Detailed understanding of all phases of architectural document production.
  • Ability to apply accessibility codes, building codes, and life-safety codes.
  • Understanding of building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry-associated standards.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work and communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Newforma.
Requirements
  • Professional degree in Architecture or related field.
  • Registered Architect is preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience.
