Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation Controls Specialist to join our team at Carilion Clinic. As a key member of our maintenance and operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our building mechanical systems, control systems, and associated metering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with other personnel and contractors to achieve optimal indoor environments for various uses.
  • Develop operational procedures and sequence of operations diagrams for systems.
  • Recognize and resolve issues to maintain environmental integrity and work productivity.
  • Install, perform routine maintenance, and inspect systems to ensure quality work and continued functioning.
  • Troubleshoot and repair problems with HVAC control systems.
  • Commission and re-commission building systems to ensure design operation.
  • Maintain documentation and resources regarding controls systems and stay up-to-date on mechanical and electrical controls systems.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent education required.
  • Five years of HVAC & R experience, with specific experience and strong knowledge of digital and pneumatic controls systems, hydronics, refrigeration, building control techniques, and programming.
  • Journey level experience as an HVAC mechanic.
  • CFC certification required.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's license with good driving record required.
