The RoleWe're seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to delivering high-quality, well-architected, reliable services to our users. As a key member of our engineering organization, you'll focus on our user enrollment portfolio, which spans frontend and backend services that drive new enrollments into Lark.

You'll collaborate with engineering leaders to define strategies, innovate systems, and optimize processes to drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Strategy Development: Collaborate with engineering leaders to define the strategy for executing on our business vision and optimize the full end-to-end user enrollment process.
- Innovation and Improvement: Work with engineers to innovate and build new systems, improve and enhance existing systems, and identify new opportunities to apply your knowledge to solve critical problems.
- Collaboration: Lead collaboration with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve our toughest problems.
- Database Design: Apply your expertise in database design, with a focus on platforms such as MySQL, DocumentDB, and DynamoDB.
- Monitoring and Logging: Collaborate with the team to level up our monitoring, alerting, and logging strategy to proactively address potential issues.
- Deployment Pipelines: Leverage opportunities to optimize our deployment pipelines, configuration management, and orchestration tools for streamlined operations and rapid iteration.
- Technical Guidance: Establish a framework for rationalizing the architecture of Lark's existing technology landscape and using it to contain costs and ensure a sustainable product lifecycle.
- Mentorship: Lead design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organizations, with an emphasis on observability, documentation, security, and risk management.
- Documentation: Refine and expand technical/architecture/design guidance documentation for Engineers on the teams to follow as best practices when building systems and services.
- Mentoring and Development: Mentor and develop other engineers on the team while learning new skills/attributes in the role.
- Programming Languages: Fluency in one or more programming languages in Lark's core stack: Golang or TypeScript (NodeJS).
- Monitoring and Alerting: Monitoring and alerting best practices, experience with Datadog a plus.
- Data Modeling: Expertise in data modeling and database design.
- CLOUD Platform: Expertise in AWS, or equivalent skills in other major cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud).
- Serverless Architecture: Experience with serverless architecture, for example AWS Lambda.
- Static Code Analysis: Aptitude in static code analysis, integration and functional testing.
- Databases: Expertise with both SQL and NoSQL, especially MySQL, DocumentDB, and DynamoDB.
- Docker and Kubernetes: Proficiency in secure and efficient Docker image creation and deployment to Kubernetes, Docker Compose.
- Automated Testing: Eye for efficient automated testing to reduce regressions and reduce bugs.
- Security Compliance: Previous exposure to HIPAA/HITRUST/SOC 2 compliance and security best practices is highly valued.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a competitive salary range of $140.5K - $228.4K, depending on location, job level, and verified job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to our benefits package, candidates may be eligible for additional compensation, such as participation in a bonus program and stock awards, where applicable.
