Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Release of Information Specialist to join our team at Denver Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for releasing and copying medical records for outside agencies, patients, courts, and other entities, while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and release medical records in a timely and accurate manner, following established procedures and protocols.
  • Audit medical records to ensure completeness and legibility, and identify any discrepancies or errors.
  • Pull medical charts to prepare clinical lines, and file loose paperwork daily.
  • Maintain the four-part chart accurately, and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Denver Sheriff Health Services Unit, and maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of clerical experience, with a combination of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
  • Ability to interact well with customers, and provide excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of terminal-digit filling systems, and the ability to maintain records accurately.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and applicability in complying with State and Federal regulations, HIPAA, Denver Sheriff Department, NCCHC, and ACA regarding release of information and privacy of patient records.
