Safety and Compliance Specialist 2

As a key member of the GeorgiaGov team, the Building Code Inspector (Safety Fire) plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with policy, procedures, state and federal regulations, and standards to guarantee safety and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing inspections for compliance with policy, procedures, state and federal regulations, and standards to ensure safety and compliance.
- Gaining knowledge of changes in state, OSHA, NFPA, and other safety codes and regulations as applicable.
- Interpreting and administering regulatory and technical issues and documenting compliance regarding safety laws and regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of the public.
- Monitoring and recording functionality and location of emergency equipment and other related items.
- Planning and coordinating inspections and audits of assigned facilities/sites for procedural compliance and to maintain appropriate accreditation.
- Providing guidance and consultation regarding fire safety inspections and other related activities.
- Utilizing a variety of monitoring, sampling, and analytical equipment and instruments to gather and enter data records.
- Performing training and data management in related areas as needed.
Requirements include an Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university or High school diploma or GED and Two years of related experience. Some positions may require a valid driver's license, certification, and/or licensure.
