Job Summary

AAMA's Prevention & Counseling Services seeks a dedicated Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS) to provide recovery-oriented support services to individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders. The RSPS will work closely with the Program Manager and RSPS Coordinator to ensure the delivery of high-quality recovery support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide culturally sensitive and recovery-oriented support services to individuals in need.
  • Assist clients with referrals to community resources, including mutual self-help groups and professional services.
  • Maintain accurate records of client service delivery and update service schedules as needed.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure the best quality care of clients.
  • Participate in ongoing community training opportunities and implement recovery-oriented training programs.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of paid or voluntary work experience as a Recovery Coach or RSPS or lived experience.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to read, write, speak clearly, and use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment.

This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime. Typical hours include days and evenings, with occasional weekend participation in special events.
