Job Title: Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Lilac Learning Center. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, providing support and accommodations to ensure their academic and personal success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to students
  • Collaborate with other educators and professionals to ensure student success
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Special Education or related field
  • Washington teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Training in QBS Safety Care de-escalation and crisis management techniques

Physical Requirements:

The Special Education Teacher will be required to assume and maintain various postures for extended periods, including kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, and standing. They must also be able to sit, stand, climb, walk, balance, lift 50 pounds, push/pull 50 pounds, carry 50 lbs, grasp, reach, handle, stoop/crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, and smell regularly.

Working Environment:

The Special Education Teacher will work in a school setting with moderate and occasional loud noise from students, toys, and normal school equipment. They may be subject to heat, cold, wet, and/or humid weather conditions, and occasionally five or more minutes in extreme heat, cold, or wet weather conditions.
