Job Overview

Marten Transport is seeking a highly skilled Dedicated Fleet Coordinator Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for managing drivers' performance in identified categories and serving as the primary/secondary communication link between drivers and our operations team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with drivers to ensure timely pickup and delivery of loads, including effective management of pallets, out-of-route miles, hours of service compliance, driver availability, and cost control.
  • Ensure that each driver has a clear understanding of customer and company expectations on each load at the point of dispatch.
  • Daily accounting of all assigned trucks and drivers, recording details and direction on all loads booked for the assigned area.
  • Act as a substitute for the customer service manager in a seamless and transparent manner.
  • Supervise and monitor trailer pools in the respected market, securing loading and/or unloading appointments promptly and logically.
  • Communicate any problems encountered to the regional manager or customer service manager.
  • Pursue knowledge of other positions and functions to broaden your ability and scope as related to career development.
  • Maintain and monitor the service levels provided to Marten's customers as required and outlined by our sales and marketing department.
  • Perform routine solicitations of the customer base by telephone or other forms of communication.
  • Delegate duties and train customer service associates.

About You

We are looking for an individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to handle a fast-paced work environment and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently. You should be able to isolate and solve problems quickly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, marketing, or other related majors, or applicable experience.
  • Ability to sit for long periods, manual dexterity for data entry, stooping, bending for filing, and light to moderate lifting.

Salary Estimate

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000-$80,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
