Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Chef Tournant to join our team at Marriott International, Inc. This role involves preparing and cooking food according to established recipes and quality standards.

About the Role

The successful candidate will specialize in ingredient preparation, maintaining food quality during cooking, and ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment. Collaboration with team members and adherence to safety protocols are essential aspects of this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
• Prepare cold foods.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.
• Monitor food quality while preparing food.
• Set-up and break down work station.
• Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires standing, sitting, or walking for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. The ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, is also necessary. The successful candidate must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.

Compensation Package

The estimated salary range for this position is between $45,000 and $60,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. A competitive benefits package is also included.
