Job Summary

Henry Ford Health System is seeking a skilled Massage Therapist to join our team at the Van Elslander Cancer Center in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. As a Massage Therapist, you will administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities to patients, providing a safe and relaxing environment for healing and wellness.

Key Responsibilities

* Administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities to patients
* Interview patients to determine medical history, condition, and desired results
* Apply selected modalities, concentrating on areas of particular discomfort
* Monitor patient responses to treatment and adjust, change or terminate treatment based on feedback
* Document patient information, interview responses, treatments, feedbacks, and results
* Maintain therapy area in a clean, safe, and organized state, ordering supplies as necessary

Requirements

* High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, or Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience
* New and experienced massage therapists welcome to apply
* Ability to provide high-quality massage therapy services tailored to the needs of individual clients
* Skilled in Swedish, deep tissue, and therapeutic modalities
* Knowledge of and ability to perform reflexology
* Preferred but not required: training in lymphatic drainage massage
* Skilled in chair massage
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
* Maintain accurate chart records and treatment notes
* Ensure to uphold company standards of service, professionalism, ethics, and client confidentiality
* Uphold infection control and safety standards
* Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record
* Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a quality work environment

Certifications/Licenses Required

* BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date
* Massage Therapist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Massage Therapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
