UGE Directional Drill Operator/Locator Specialist

We are seeking a skilled UGE Directional Drill Operator/Locator Specialist to join our team at MasTec Utility Services. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for operating horizontal/directional drill rigs, locating equipment, and providing product support.
About the Role:
- Operate drill rigs efficiently, preparing jobs and drills for safe execution.
- Pothole utilities that will be paralleled or crossed during bore shots.
- Verify existing utilities to ensure accurate planning.
- Maintain water tanks with water and combine it with chemicals for boring, depending on the ground conditions.
- Locate drill heads from point A to point B without hitting utilities at the correct depth.
- Hook up swivels, reamers, and pipe products for pulling back to complete bore shots.
- Develop plans to go above or below utilities and obstacles in the bore path before starting each shot.
- Pull back products using the correct hole openers and mud mixtures to ensure successful completion.
- Inspect and maintain job equipment, including drill equipment and mixing units.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Valid CDL Class A driver's license with tanker endorsement.
- OSHA 10 Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of experience.
Work Environment:
This role operates in a field environment, requiring extended periods of physical activity, such as bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and standing. You must also work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
Salary and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is $$70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, as well as a 401(k) plan and employee stock purchase plan.
