We are seeking a skilled Construction Materials Technician III to join our team in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting field or laboratory testing, sampling, and/or inspection services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with dispatchers and coordinators to ensure priorities and deadlines are met in both the field and laboratory.
  • Meet with supervisors of contractors, engineer/architect representatives, and/or other project leads on project sites to discuss and coordinate testing, sampling, or inspection of construction materials or construction procedures.
  • Perform source inspections at plant and manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure safe utilization, storage, and maintenance of all equipment, including nuclear gauges.
  • May lead the work of other technicians.
  • Communicate project progress and delays to supervisors and dispatchers.
  • Submit accurate and complete testing/inspection reports on a daily basis.
  • Drive company vehicles to job sites in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED certification preferred.
  • Three (3) years of applicable experience in the materials testing and inspection industry.
  • Two (2) or more certifications, such as ACI Field Grade I, TxDOT SB 102, TxDOT Level 1A, TxDOT Level 1B, NiCET I or II Soils or Concrete, ICC Certifications, or other relevant certifications.
  • Possess a valid driver's license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet firm's auto insurability requirements. Able to travel to project sites and maneuver over rough and uneven terrain.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and solvents, noise, dust, fumes, grease, and oils, radiant and electrical energy, and vibration. Regular use of non-complex machines and equipment and hand tools such as sledgehammers, shovels, and picks. Work assignments are frequently performed outside in all weather conditions.

This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.
