Job Summary

This position is located with the Indian Health Service, Office of Environmental Health & Engineering, within the Division of Facilities Management in Aberdeen, SD. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, develop, direct, evaluate, and manage the area-wide physical assets. The incumbent will report to the DFM Director or designee.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assist Area and Service Unit facility leadership with project identification and proposal submissions.
  • Review and analyze submissions of concepts, preliminary and working drawings and specifications prepared by I.H.S engineering staff and contracted architect engineers (A/E) to ensure compliance with agency standards, policies, and goals at various stages of completion.
  • Supervise assigned staff within the Division of Facilities Management department.
  • Responsible for the administration of the Division of Facilities Management program including issues related to schedule and monitor staff projects.
  • Ensure acquisition processes are followed.

Requirements
  • Selectee may be subject to a probationary/trial period.
  • ESEP appointees typically serve a two year trial period.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • A one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be required upon selection/placement.
  • Confidential Financial Disclosure Form required.
  • Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

Qualifications
  • To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social).
  • You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.

Education
  • This position has an education requirement.
  • You are strongly encouraged to submit a copy of your transcripts or a list of your courses including titles, credit hours completed, and grades.
