Field Sales Representative Trainee

TTI Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Field Sales Representative Trainee to join our Career Launch Program. As a Field Sales Representative Trainee, you will participate in an intensive training program that combines classroom instruction with hands-on experience in North Fort Worth, TX. Upon completion of the training program, you will be based in one of our Sales Branches.
Key Responsibilities- Sales and Account Management: Sell company products and services to assigned customers in territory, creating sales, defending sales, and penetrating sales for existing and potential customers.
- Customer Relationships: Establish and maintain effective business relationships with customer purchasing and management staff, ensuring all aspects of transactions are handled in a professional, ethical, and timely manner.
- New Business Development: Pursue new business leads by utilizing all available resources, including reps, trade shows, networking, manufacturers, internet, and TTI internal resources.
- Follow-up and Communication: Facilitate follow-through on every level of the sales cycle, keeping in touch with customers, inside sales, manufacturers, sample requests, quotes, and ensuring everything is complete, timely, and meets customer expectations.
- Quarterly Business Reviews: Attend quarterly business reviews with suppliers and regular meetings with internal management to understand business outlook and opportunities.
- Price Quotes and Timeliness: Ensure timeliness of price quotes meets customer deadlines by working with TTI personnel to gather accurate product and delivery information.
- Customer Account Coverage: Increase customer account coverage by working closely with Account Representatives to ensure customers receive the highest level of customer service and support.
- Value-Added Services: Work with customer buyers, purchasing, and engineering staff on projects and designs, offering value-added services to ascertain future business.
- Negotiation and Special Pricing: Strategize with company management on large customer quotes to negotiate price and delivery terms, offering the best deal for the customer and maximizing profit for TTI.
- Customer Questions and Complaints: Answer and resolve all customer questions, problems, and complaints by responding to contacts, resolving issues, and following through in a timely manner.
- Customer Entertainment: Entertain customers in the normal course of business to aid in negotiations and/or show appreciation for business.
- Market Awareness: Maintain market awareness on competitor activities, industry trends, and new concepts by reading industry periodicals, networking, attending periodic update training events, and trade shows.
- Reporting and Quality: Report daily itinerary to branch management, submitting details on appointments, and participate in the TTI Total Quality Program by supporting the importance of quality and ensuring defined processes are followed.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with two years of Engineering and/or Component Sales experience preferred, with a progression from inside sales, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills and Certifications: Possess thorough knowledge and understanding of sales, purchasing, product, vendors, warehousing, branch operations, and systems; exhibit exceptional knowledge of company products and services; possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills; exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills; and possess working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and computer systems.
