We are seeking a highly skilled Cytology Prep Technician to join our team in the laboratory.
The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and validating specimens, assigning unique identifying numbers, and preparing specimens for microscopic evaluation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving and validating non-gynecologic and gynecologic specimens for appropriate identification, collection, and handling.
- Assigning unique identifying numbers to relate specimens to requisitions, computer data entries, and reports.
- Preparing specimens for microscopic evaluation by cytotechnologists and pathologists.
- Communicating with clinical personnel to relate collection instructions, verify or obtain patient demographics, and enter billing data and pertinent clinical history.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent with advanced placement or college biology and chemistry, or job-cross training, and one year of experience in lab-related clerical and technical skills.
