Job Description
The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist performs a variety of radiographic and mammography procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. This role requires adhering to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact involved.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operate radiographic equipment and monitor it for functionality, promptly reporting any malfunctions
• Utilize safety devices such as cones, collimators, lead aprons, gloves, and gonad shields to ensure maximum radiation safety
• Perform necessary computer and clerical functions regarding exam requests
• Maintain orderliness in exam rooms and stock supplies as needed
• Provide necessary care and safety for patients while in the department, utilizing appropriate nursing procedure techniques
• Maintain mammography comparison films, lay letters to patients, and bone densitometry orders
• Track and retrieve films that have been checked out to other facilities

Salary
The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, including front-loaded PTO, 100% paid short-term disability, increased retirement match, and paid family leave.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:
• Current Mammography certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• Current CPR certification required within 90 days of hire
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)

Working Conditions
As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be exposed to moveable trays, bins, electrical equipment, contamination or infection through accidental needle punctures, chemical fumes from processors while developing radiographs, radiation, and patients with contagious diseases. You must wear universal safety protective clothing and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
