Job Summary:

The EEO Investigator/Coordinator plays a critical role in promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect at Washington State University. This position is responsible for investigating student and employee complaints related to civil rights or discrimination, as well as coordinating University-wide programs and policies related to diversity management, accessibility, and human rights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting inquiries and formal investigations, writing detailed reports of findings, and developing prevention and response programs and policies to address discrimination and sexual misconduct.
  • Providing information and interpretation to students and employees regarding University policies, coordinating and conducting University-wide training and educational activities, and participating in University-wide committees.
  • Collaborating with a team of investigators and support staff to ensure effective and efficient investigation and resolution of complaints.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area, or any combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Experience conducting administrative or legal investigations, fact-finding, and assessing complex matters, as well as demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience writing detailed reports, analyzing information, reviewing and processing documents, handling confidential issues, and giving presentations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and rules in the workplace, as well as a commitment to fostering a culture of inclusiveness.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A law degree or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as human resources, management, or education.
  • Knowledge of Title IX regulation and requirements, as well as experience working in higher education.
  • Fluency in a second language and working knowledge of the WSU administrative environment.
