About the Role

Banner Health is seeking a skilled Operating Room Surgery Scheduler to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for scheduling surgical, cardiovascular, and obstetrical procedures using a computerized scheduling system.

You will work closely with medical staff, physicians, and patient families to ensure seamless coordination of patient care. Your strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills will be essential in maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely completion of tasks.

This is a full-time opportunity, working Monday to Friday, 11am to 7:30pm, with some flexibility required for schedule changes. Rotating holidays and potential weekend coverage may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate case times for elective, urgent, or emergent surgeries, cardiovascular, or obstetrical procedures in a computerized scheduling system.
  • Verify and review physician privilege status prior to scheduling.
  • Acquire and maintain physician preference information and staff roster.
  • Enter physician orders for lab, blood bank, medical imaging, and cardiology.
  • Compile data and prepare statistical reports for management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  • 2 years of medical clerical experience, preferably in a hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, payor contract terms, and processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills, effective human relations, and communication skills.
