Job Summary
Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated OB Technician to join our team. As an OB Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our labor and delivery department. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the surgical team during procedures, preparing the operating room, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the surgical team during procedures, including scrubbing hands and arms, donning gowns and gloves, and setting up operating room trays.
Prepare the operating room, including setting up tables and arranging instruments, sponges, and dressings.
Maintain a clean and safe environment, including cleaning instruments and equipment, and restocking supplies.
Assist with patient care, including taking temperatures, measuring outputs, and providing baby care as needed.
Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient department operations.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Successful completion of a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologist, and holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist (CST) credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), required.
Prior PCA, fetal monitoring, and Labor & Delivery experience preferred.
Ability to lift, turn, and position patients, required. Ability to communicate effectively.
Work Environment
This position is located in a fast-paced labor and delivery department, requiring the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, and may be required to work overtime as needed.
The ideal candidate will be a team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
