Job Description

This role requires a high level of technical expertise, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will work independently and as part of a team to install, test, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems in accordance with relevant codes and regulations.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NICET certification (Preferred)
  • Availability for travel and night shifts
  • Valid state-required Physical Security or Life Safety licenses
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and site maps
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72
  • Experience in burglar alarms, access control, and CCTV
  • Strong customer relationship and communication skills
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting switches, WiFi, and routers
  • Certification to operate BOOM or scissor lifts, with the ability to work at heights
  • Possession of basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license
Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Installation, repair, or upgrade of fire alarm systems as per building plans and electrical layouts
  • Mounting sensors at designated locations and conducting necessary tasks such as drilling holes for cabling
  • Ensuring compliance with current codes and regulations
  • Running low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including concrete wall drilling and conduit work
  • Completing all wiring, connections, and equipment installations to meet electrical and fire codes
  • Testing to ensure the operational status of newly installed fire alarm systems and components
  • Troubleshooting new system installations to ensure functionality and compliance with codes and requirements
