Job Summary

A Senior Project Engineer will support the Project Manager in handling routine field and cost engineering tasks to deliver successful projects, meeting corporate and project objectives. Under the Area Manager's supervision, this role may take on project management responsibilities for parts of a project or smaller less complex projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend pre-job planning meetings to review estimates, plans, and specs with Estimators, Superintendents, and Area Managers.
  • Participate in construction planning and design, interpreting designs, applying construction methods, resolving design conflicts, and conducting constructability reviews.
  • Manage purchasing, supporting the project budget, schedule, and contract documents by effectively buying materials and subcontractors in a timely manner, considering estimators' agreements at bid close.
  • Initiate or assist in reviewing project management procedures, including submittals, invoices, requests for information, change orders, and close-out documents.
  • Prepare and maintain project administrative documents, such as submittals, status reports, billings, cost analysis and projections, claims, daily payroll reports, subcontract documents, and change orders, as directed by the Project Manager or Area Manager.
Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in construction management, landscape architecture, or civil engineering, or equivalent experience in construction management with at least 1 year estimating take-off and two or more years of heavy civil field experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is helpful but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, reading comprehension, and ability to deal with both standardized and non-standard situations with many variables.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new technologies.
  • A valid California Driver's License and clean driving record.
Compensation Package
