Job Summary

This Senior Software Engineer position will be part of our Services Team, reporting directly to the Director of Engineering. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Go programming language, service design principles, and supporting operational technologies like gRPC and Kubernetes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing high-performance, reliable, and secure services in Go
  • Maintaining and improving existing services in production
  • Participating in designing and developing new services and features
  • Ensuring a deep understanding of the business domain and operational processes
  • Effectively managing risk and tradeoffs when introducing changes to mission-critical application code

Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years using Go programming language
  • Strong knowledge of service design principles and supporting operational technologies
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders
  • Experience working in a polyglot technical environment alongside Ruby engineers
  • Ability to make informed decisions with good judgment when working within existing codebases or facing design constraints
  • Commitment to producing well-tested code prioritizing security considerations
  • Willingness to adhere to a rigorous change control process in a highly regulated industry
  • Capacity to support team members of all levels and backgrounds, promoting teaching and learning

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in:

  • Payments, fintech applications, or other heavily regulated industries
  • Domain expertise in payment card and/or ACH processing
  • Ruby programming language
  • NATS messaging
  • Relational databases, particularly Postgres

  • An estimated salary range of $175,000 - $200,000 per year
