About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our team at Nexus Family Healing. As a Physical Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing educational instruction and support to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Instruction: In collaboration with the school team, assess the educational needs and progress of assigned students, and provide instruction to students in classes of expertise as assigned.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention within the classroom setting, applying TCI or approved de-escalation techniques as needed, and seek assistance when warranted through appropriate procedures.
  • Classroom Environment: Create a positive and supportive classroom climate that fosters learning and treatment.
  • Confidentiality: Ensure confidentiality regarding students is in compliance with all licensing agencies, company policy, COA, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • IEPs and Meetings: Develop or assist in developing IEPs, test ability levels, and coordinate meetings with other members of the IEP team as required.
  • Professional Development: Attend faculty/staff meetings, IEP staffings, and participate in additional meetings and training sessions as required, understanding and supporting the Nexus treatment philosophy and modalities.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an educational discipline, active teacher's licensure/certification, and a valid driver's license.
  • Experience: 2 years of previous teaching experience, and active teacher's licensure/certification specialization in the areas of EBD, LD, SED, and TMH.
