Job Description

The Department of Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences at Auburn University is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to work in environmental nutrient management. The successful candidate will contribute to the understanding of nutrient mineralization of animal manures and their fate and transport in the environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments on manure mineralization
  • Operate analytical instruments such as ICP-AES, Ion chromatography (IC), and UV-VIS, ensuring quality control and quality assurance
  • Manage and organize data for research findings
  • Supervise graduate students and undergraduate student workers
  • Present research findings through presentations and manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed journal articles

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Soil Science, Agronomy, Soil Microbiology, Soil Chemistry or a closely related field
  • Experience with laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments, and data analysis using R or SAS
  • Ability to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States

About the Role:

This is a benefits-eligible, non-tenure track position with an initial appointment period of two years, renewable up to four years based on performance and funding availability. The estimated salary for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
