Job Summary:

A postdoctoral position is available in the Neuroinflammation Lab at the Virginia Commonwealth University. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Garcia-Bonilla to design and carry out experiments, analyze data, and present findings in written form and to meetings. The applicant must possess strong English and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct research in neuroinflammation and cerebrospinal fluid analysis
Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and present findings
Collaborate with Dr. Garcia-Bonilla and other lab members
Write papers and grants, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students

Essential Qualifications:

PhD or MD/PhD in biomedicine, molecular/cellular biology, or neuroscience
Experience in working with animals and cultures
Strong background in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and immunology
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in viral packaging and gene therapy
Animal handling and neurobehavioral testing

This is a full-time position with a minimum one-year appointment, contingent upon satisfactory annual reviews. Salary is commensurate with NIH guidelines and applicant experience. The position is open until filled.
