About the Role

As a Patient Care Specialist at Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals with mental health needs.

Job Summary

This is an entry-level position for Registered Nurses (RN) who are new graduates or have minimal RN experience. You will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Implement evidence-based nursing practices to promote patient recovery and well-being.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current and active Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligibility for licensure.
  • A valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in psychiatric settings or with similar populations.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.

This is a night shift position, requiring two 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm - 7:30 am and two 8-hour shifts from 11:00 pm - 7:30 am. Rotating weekends may be required. This position also involves working overtime as needed.
