Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant I to join our team at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week with a varied schedule including evenings, nights, and weekends.

The estimated salary for this role is $38,400 - $46,300 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

This CNA I will provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Responsibilities include feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients, as well as changing linens. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, peers, and other healthcare members to maximize successful customer outcomes.

  • Communicate and interact with patients and families, physicians, peers, and other healthcare members to ensure successful customer outcomes.
  • Precept team members to job function and orient patients to hospital environment and routine.
  • Attend and serve on unit committees or educational peer opportunities to improve quality and engagement.
  • Document all aspects of patient care in a timely manner and participate in unit quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide care in accordance with the patient's plan of care and label and deliver specimens per policy.
  • Maintain a safe environment complying with NLH policies and procedures, reporting and addressing environmental hazards and patient safety policy violations.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
  • Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Ability to lift, move, and load 30-50 pounds.
