Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled HR Benefits Specialist to join our team at Novinium. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about benefits administration and providing excellent customer service.

About the Role

The HR Benefits Specialist will be responsible for planning, implementing, and administering benefit programs and policies, including health insurance and other benefit components. This role will also involve assisting with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department and providing a high level of customer service to employees and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer all aspects of the company's benefits programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Explain and answer employee questions on various benefit plans, including 401(k), health, dental, vision, life, HSAs, and FSAs.
  • Process leave requests for employees in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate posting of federal and state labor regulations at corporate and satellite offices.
  • Recommend changes to policies to improve practices and methods.
  • Stay current on changing policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Manage relationships and act as the company liaison with insurance companies, third-party administrators, and other benefits vendors.
  • Reconcile monthly insurance billings to ensure accurate deductions and correct discrepancies.
  • Initiate Qualified Beneficiary (QB) forms for COBRA eligibility and forward to TPA.
  • Plan and execute the annual Open Enrollment program.
  • Provide administrative support to all aspects of Novinium's 401(k) Plan, assisting employees in program enrollment and ensuring accurate data entry of employee and employer contributions.
  • Coordinate with payroll in responding to and processing unemployment claims received from state agencies.
  • File EEO-1 and other required regulatory reports.
  • Provide generic and custom reports from the HR database system as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources, including experience in employee benefit/insurance administration.
  • Experience maintaining and running reports from HR systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of trust and confidentiality.
  • Ability to function effectively and professionally in difficult and/or conflict situations.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Accuracy, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Clear understanding of compliance requirements and federal and state regulations pertaining to programs like COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and Medicare.
What We Offer:

A competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan with a company match.
