Job Overview

The Charge Nurse is a vital position responsible for leading and coordinating care on designated shifts within the Outpatient Surgery Center. This role entails providing direction to staff members, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes, and participating in unit-based governance councils.

About the Role

This full-time, dayshift position requires 36 weekly hours of dedication. As an entry-level management position, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the nursing process for each patient, regardless of age or condition. They will also provide leadership and promote positive patient outcomes through effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

The Charge Nurse will:
• Implement the nursing process for each patient assigned to their care, adhering to the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act
• Provide leadership and direction to staff members, promoting a culture of teamwork and quality care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and develop innovative solutions
• Participate in unit-based and hospital shared-governance councils to drive change and enhance patient care

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
• An active Kentucky RN license
• At least two years of relevant patient care experience
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification within 90 days of hire
