New Hampshire Job Corps (NHJC) is a renowned residential career training program that has been empowering young people for over 50 years.
Our comprehensive program helps eligible individuals between the ages of 16 and 24 complete their high school education, acquire valuable career skills, and secure employment. Since its inception in 1964, Job Corps has successfully trained and educated over two million individuals.
Job OverviewWe are currently seeking a motivated Career Development Specialist to join our team in Manchester, NH.
As a Career Development Specialist, you will be responsible for recruiting and coordinating student arrivals, providing transitional support, and placing students in quality full-time jobs, higher education, or advanced training.
You will ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information and maintain the integrity of student data.
Duties and Responsibilities- Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures to safeguard student data.
- Ensures contracts meet or exceed DOL/Company performance goals.
- Supports educational and placement goals for assigned students.
- Works closely with community agencies, employment services, schools, and other organizations to promote the Job Corps program.
- Serves as a liaison between the Job Corps Center and community agencies, developing and maintaining referral linkages.
- Participates in job development activities leading to student success.
- Conducts comprehensive screening procedures to determine applicants' eligibility and suitability.
- Secures and evaluates applicants' behavioral, medical, and educational records.
- Provides personalized career counseling and evaluates student performance.
- Develops, monitors, and updates student transition plans as required.
- Plans, prioritizes, and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
- Mentors, monitors, and models the Career Success Standards.
- Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population.
- Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Or an Associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or a closely related field from an accredited institution and two years of related experience.
- Valid in-state driver's license and meet company insurability requirements.
- Department of Labor approval required.
- Ability to speak and read English fluently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and ask questions when unclear.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including:
- Average annual salary: $45,000 - $60,000.
- Paid holidays (11 days annually).
- Paid vacation (starts accruing from day one).
