Inpatient Facility Medical Coder

At American IT Staff, we are seeking a skilled Inpatient Facility Medical Coder to join our team. As a key member of our coding team, you will be responsible for accurately assigning diagnosis and procedure codes to patient health information records for various healthcare settings, including emergency departments, ambulatory surgical centers, and inpatient facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes to patient health information records
- Utilize ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and HCPCS/CPT classification systems
- Review and verify chart information to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Meet and maintain department standards for productivity and quality
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in coding, with 4 years in inpatient facility coding
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 of the following certifications: Registered Health Information Technician, Coding Specialist, or Registered Health Information Administrator
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in health information/medical record environment
- Degree in Health Information Management
- Proficient knowledge of ICD-10 coding guidelines and CMS HCC Risk Adjustment coding
