Faculty Position at Hagerstown Community College

We are seeking a qualified educator to teach and coordinate our Medical Laboratory Technician program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical laboratory science, teaching experience, and excellent communication skills.

About the Position

This full-time faculty position is responsible for teaching core curricula in the Medical Laboratory Technician program. The instructor/coordinator will participate in recruitment and retention of students, procurement of program materials and resources, oversight of accreditation and advisory committees, supervision of adjunct faculty, and development of curricula.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach designated number of credits per semester
  • Assess learning outcomes at course, discipline, program, and college levels
  • Develop and evaluate instructional materials
  • Participate in student outcome assessment projects
  • Advise students on courses, programs, and career objectives
Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, current national certification through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification, and three years of work experience in a clinical/medical laboratory. Teaching experience in post-secondary education is also required.

Candidates should have strong organizational and writing skills, attention to detail, and excellent advising/counseling skills. Ability to establish good working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the community is essential.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
