Support Staff Associate

Institute for Comm Living offers a fulfilling career opportunity as a Support Staff Associate. This role plays a vital part in the daily lives of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD).
As a Support Staff Associate, you will work in one of our residential programs in Brooklyn, the Bronx, or Manhattan. These facilities provide varying levels and types of support, promoting the growth and independence of residents.
You would be responsible for:
- Providing essential supports and services to ensure community integration, personal care, and daily living skills development.
- Assisting individuals with activities, such as meal preparation, dining, dressing, and recreational programs.
- Working collaboratively with other staff to carry out and record care plans, including medication administration when necessary.
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
- Participating in emergency situations to guarantee the health and safety of individuals.
The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Prior experience working with individuals with I/DD is an asset but not required.
This role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand, bend, stretch, and lift bedridden individuals when necessary.
