Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Associate Systems Engineer to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our Nuclear Safety Cross Check Analysis (NSCCA) program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of nuclear weapon systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Assessment and Analysis: Perform thorough assessments of systems, reviewing software to identify flaws and suggest improvements.
  • Code Examination and Testing: Conduct code examination, analysis, and testing to ensure software meets safety and mission critical functionality requirements.
  • System Knowledge Acquisition: Review and analyze systems, platforms, applications, and their interfaces to quickly acquire system knowledge.
  • Hardware and Software Identification: Identify hardware and software portions of systems for safety and mission critical functionality.
  • Embedded Software Evaluation: Perform detailed evaluation of embedded software to verify that software requirements are correctly implemented.
  • Requirements and Design: Identify requirements, design, and test procedures to ensure the system will perform as expected.
  • Documentation and Presentation: Document analysis performed with resulting anomalies identified and present findings to peers, customers, and management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science (STEM) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Math, or Physics, or Masters of Science in STEM degree.
  • Experience: 5 years of relevant experience or 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters of Science in STEM degree.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability to identify logic errors, code inconsistencies, and inefficiencies, safety hazards associated with software and/or hardware design languages, code design, and requirement specifications.
  • Communication Skills: Technical writing experience and the ability to write technically and grammatically correct documentation.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Self-directed and able to work independently and with a team, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Security Clearance: U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain/maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance: DoD Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Technical Experience: 5 years experience in software testing, software safety analysis, or related technical field.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience with Air Force Safety Manuals, Instructions, and Processes.
  • Programming Languages: Experience with Object-Oriented Programming languages.
  • Integrated Development Environments: Experience with Integrated Development Environments.
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering: Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo.
  • IBM DOORS: Experience with IBM DOORS.
