Job Overview
This position will support the JETS II contract in Houston, Texas, working on the JETS ISS Rendezvous and Proximity Operations Team. The selected candidate will provide technical oversight, program integration, and certification of ISS visiting vehicle Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) systems.

Responsibilities
  • Certify GN&C system requirements compliance through review of analysis and test reports.
  • Certify fault tolerance safety requirements compliance through review of GN&C-related hazard reports and associated verification evidence.
  • Identify and recommend solutions to GN&C/Rendezvous and Proximity Operations performance related issues.
  • Communicate status of compliance reviews to ISS program management.
  • Conduct performance assessments on delivered GN&C data from visiting vehicle providers.
  • Provide feedback on Monte Carlo trajectory analyses using independent 6 degrees-of-freedom simulations.
  • Provide engineering inputs to operational products, such as flight rules and on-orbit demonstration plans.
  • Provide console support during real-time ground monitoring of the visiting vehicle's GN&C system on missions.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • The selected candidate must have 2+ years of recent and related experience.
  • Experience with orbital mechanics, GN&C principles, navigation sensor selection, navigation filter design, and/or navigation architecture development is necessary.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, GN&C algorithms, and system performance analysis is essential.
  • Experience with design, verification, testing, and operation of GN&C hardware and software is required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and contractor employees is necessary.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Bastion offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, AD&D, disability benefits, life insurance, retirement 401k, vacation, sick pay, holidays, and flexible work schedules.


Location and Work Environment

This position is located onsite at our Houston, Texas office. Some travel may be required. A 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off, is offered. Our office is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
