Job Summary:

As a CT Technologist at Bryan Health, you will play a vital role in the diagnostic imaging process. Your primary responsibility will be to perform computed tomography (CT) procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. This includes using CT technology and techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient medical problems for patients throughout the age continuum.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commit to the mission, vision, and values of Bryan Health, consistently demonstrating our core values.
2. Perform all types of CT studies, including diagnostic and interventional procedures, while practicing radiation safety for patients, staff, and self.
3. Use sterile technique as required and optimally demonstrate patient anatomy through proper positioning and selection of technical factors.
4. Competently operate all CT equipment and support systems, including EPIC, PACS, and teleradiography.
5. Perform and evaluate images for technical quality and review patient history to provide accurate documentation of studies.
6. Properly care for and image patients of all ages, maintaining patient confidentiality and coordinating exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care.
7. Handle telephone calls for scheduling, coordination, or questions with courtesy and accuracy and participate in the department's quality improvement plan as required.
8. Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment as necessary and notify the coordinator of equipment problems and call the appropriate service vendors as needed.
9. Access and administer drugs and biologicals that are pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with standard operating procedures.
10. Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise.

Requirements:

1. Maintains clinical competency as required for the unit, including age-specific competencies relative to patient's growth and developmental needs, annual skill competency verification, and mandatory education and competencies.
2. Knowledge of CT positioning, use of technical factors, and radiation safety practices.
3. Knowledge of CT non-invasive and invasive procedures and Joint Commission, federal, and state regulations related to radiography.
4. Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications relevant to work functions and skill in operating CT equipment, PACS, and other related systems.
5. Ability to react appropriately and perform work effectively under stressful and emergent situations and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
6. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision and ability to interact effectively with patients, family, staff, and physicians.
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information and ability to care for diverse patients throughout the age continuum.
8. Ability to exercise courtesy and professionalism in the work environment and ability to practice proper body mechanics to ensure personal and patient safety.
9. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patients and families in accordance with HIPPA regulations and hospital procedures and ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
