Job Summary

The Boston Medical Center seeks a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Neuro Critical Care team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our clinical practice.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, counseling, and education to patients and families in accordance with established protocols and standards of care.
  • Perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of our clinical practice.
  • Stay current with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in neuro critical care.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing required, with completion of an accredited educational program for nurse practitioners.
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, with authorization to practice in an expanded role.
  • Registered with the ANCC or other accrediting organization for Nurse Practitioners, and registered with the State of Massachusetts and DEA for prescription writing privileges.
  • Prior experience in ICU or critical care setting, with previous experience in Neurology ideal.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expert clinical judgment and ability to work independently in an expanded role.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Full command of the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to apply principles of adult learning to provide effective patient education.
