Hospital for Special Surgery, a renowned healthcare institution, is seeking a highly skilled Chief Administrative Professional to join Dr. Daniel Osei's esteemed orthopedic practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support, overseeing day-to-day operations, and contributing to an environment of clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact with patients and their families in person, on the phone, and via email communications in a professional, empathetic manner
  • Answer phone calls, make calls to patients, physicians, and other staff, ensuring seamless communication
  • Patient check-out after appointments and return visit scheduling, guaranteeing timely follow-ups
  • Schedule surgical cases and new clinic appointments, optimizing productivity and patient flow
  • Manage physicians' professional calendars, prioritizing tasks and ensuring efficient use of time
  • Act as a liaison between the office and other hospital staff, fostering effective collaboration
  • Manage front-end payment collection and insurance authorizations, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement
  • Train, oversee, and develop junior staff within the physician office, promoting growth and excellence
  • Proactively identify ways to enhance physician office operations, driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree highly desirable (5-7 years of physician office experience may be considered in lieu of education)
  • Attention to detail and ability to relay messages and information accurately
  • Ability to derive practical solutions independently in a fast-paced environment, escalating patient care issues appropriately if necessary
  • Follow-through with tasks to completion, exceeding expectations for key tasks or critical patient needs
  • Adherence to patient privacy and HIPAA protection of data, information, and other HSS policies
  • Strong computer and internet skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to learn new software tools and systems as required on the job
  • Effective and accurate following of directions and/or instructions
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and pragmatic individual energized by working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $38.70-$51.40 per hour, reflecting the level of expertise and responsibility required.
