Distribution Sales Manager

Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000/year + a comprehensive benefits package including 401K, Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 8 Paid Holidays, and Sick Time
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid break)
Job Overview: Our client, a leading building materials/manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Inside Sales Manager to lead a growing team of sales professionals. This position requires a highly motivated and results-driven individual with a strong background in sales and customer service management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to ensure sales team members meet individual and team performance goals
- Accurately manage order processing, including pricing, terms of sale, product, quantity, shipping, and special instructions
- Coordinate and manage deliveries, collaborating closely with the warehouse team to ensure timely and accurate shipments
- Maintain system accuracy on sales orders to reflect realistic ship dates
- Manage customer files, including accurate pricing, payment terms, and contact information
- Partner with internal supply chain departments to manage customer orders and ensure expectations are met
- Complete product returns, warranties, and invoice adjustments in a timely manner, ensuring accurate reason codes and compliance with company policy
- Maintain daily contact with sales representatives regarding pricing inquiries, discrepancies, and status updates
- Maintain accurate price books and initiate price increases to ensure implementation in the invoicing system
- Report competitive activities to the sales team
- Resolve customer conflicts and handle escalation procedures as needed
- Ensure coverage for customer service areas, including the showroom, by managing team schedules
- Attend management meetings as directed
- Generate and distribute flash and bookings reports daily
- Foster strong relationships with clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Subject matter expert on all products, codes, and systems
- Process client payments
- Analyze customer feedback and sales data to identify areas for improvement and growth
Requirements:
- High school diploma required (college degree preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in inside sales and customer service management, preferably in a distribution company
- 2+ years of supervisory/management or lead experience preferred
- Strong understanding of sales principles and customer service best practices
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient with navigating new software
- Prior experience working in an ERP system
