Key Animation Systems Designer in High-Quality Games

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Technical Designer in Animation to join our team working on various animation systems as part of our collaboration with Disney. As a key player, you will design and create gameplay animation systems that facilitate appealing, high-quality character motion. Your expertise will bridge the gap between animation teams and other departments, ensuring a smooth and efficient animation pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement animation state machines/behaviors and runtime solutions.
- Collaborate with animation leadership to maintain style and quality standards for animations in games.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and solve in-game animation implementation issues and related technical challenges.
- Closely work with the Animation, Design, and Engineering departments to optimize animation workflows and provide training and documentation for the animation team.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A strong understanding of realistic and stylized character motion and modern animation methods.
- Expertise with animation pipelines, including source content creation tools such as Maya, MotionBuilder, and the Unreal Engine using our Control Rig toolset.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with strong written communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with gameplay animation tools and concepts, such as blend trees and state machines; experience with Unreal Engine Animation Blueprints is a plus.
